Katia Cadet takes over Jamaica!

…well, Kingston, Jamaica, in the national stadium for Caribbean Fashion Week, at least. The Grammy-nominated artist gave a sneak-peak world-wide debut of the video single from her upcoming debut solo album, and took some time to pose with the new face of POLO, Ralph Lauren, Orraine Barrett. More to come on that. Production in Jamaica was as difficult as it gets, field testing the new 5D-MkII shoulder-mount, cam-brick-powered, matte-box-and-follow-focus driven cinema rig (with the sweet new Marshall 6.5″ hi-res field monitor as a viewfinder, to boot), last minute calls for still shoots, and the impromptu opportunity to capture a moment such as this. Katia Cadet headlined fashion week, which, considering the country is just off the brink of a civil war, is pretty unbelievable, and for a day or two, I felt like I was truly in the entourage.
